Hairstyle

This fall, start practicing yoga with these basic poses and hairstyles by Eve Guilbert, Yoga Teacher.

In this article, we discuss yoga and healthy beauty routine with Yoga teacher Eve Guilbert, who gives us a basic yoga class and shows us the importance of a balanced lifestyle and how to keep your hair in place during her classes.

Fresh air, red leaves, pumpkin picking. . . I love fall. However, the cold weather and the lack of light that comes along with this season can have a significant impact on our mood. That's why I suggest you integrate yoga into your daily routine. Whether at a studio or for a short session at home, yoga will help you release the tension caused by the changes in weather and increase your energy level on a daily basis. Here are three basic poses to begin with.

1. The Dog Head Down

Benefits

• Strengthens the upper body

• Stretches hamstrings

• Calms the nervous system

Tip: Spread your fingers apart for a better grip and keep the shoulders away from the ears.

2. Le Cobra

Benefits

• Strengthens back muscles

• Opens up the chest

• Energizes

Tip: Be sure to tone your legs by pressing the top of the feet onto the floor to protect the lumbar region.

3. Vakrasana (twisting of the column)

Benefits

• Relieves back pain

• Improves digestion

• Builds the strength and flexibility of the muscles around the column

Tip: Anchor the ischios (the two small bones of the buttocks) to the ground while stretching out the head towards the sky to create an elongation of the column and flanks.

MY HAIRCARE ROUTINE

It is very important for me to take great care of my hair, especially since, being a brunette, I must use a bleaching agent to achieve the balayage results that make my beautiful blonde. That is why, over the last few years, I've started washing my hair approximately every 4 days. I must say it wasn't easy at first, but I managed to find a few tricks to keep my hair looking fresh (thanks to Pureology dry shampoo)! It has been worth the effort because, shortly after, I could see that my hair was shinier and healthier.

I'm currently using the Hydrate Sheer Range. I am absolutely in love with the aromatherapy used in these products, made of eucalyptus, ylang-ylang and bergamot. This scent reminds me of the spa and is super soothing! I appreciate that the formulas, which are 100% vegan, are made of concentrates. For example, I can use a very small quantity of shampoo and still get a super creamy foam that I can apply all over my thick hair. I'm also using one of Pureology's best-seller, the Colour Fanatic Multi-tasking Hair Beautifier, to protect and prime my hair.

Secret tip: The recommended amount of Pureology product to use is indicated on the lid of the bottle; it is equal to the size of the shape of the Pureology flower.

MY FAVOURITE HAIRSTYLE TO PRACTISE YOGA

My favourite hairstyle to practice yoga

As I have long and thick hair, the classic ponytail is not an option for me because it can feel too heavy. The best hairstyle I have found so far is single or double braids.

Why? Because this hairstyle:

1. Keeps your hair away from your face

2. Is comfortable (you will understand if you have thick hair)

3. Gives hair a nice texture
